Light of Day Benefit in Bedford, UK - 11/18/07
The Bielanko brothers and Ms. Christine Smith took part in a series of stripped down benefit concerts for the Light of Day foundation, a charity dedicated to fighting Parkinson's disease. The Marah trio was joined by Willie Nile, Joe D'Urso and local musicians along the way in Stockholm, Rotterdam, Rome, Barcelona, and here in Bedford, England. For the last show, the local musician was Badly Drawn Boy, as you'll see in the background of these clips. Thanks to Wierdcritter for the video.

Christine Smith... the newest member of Marah
Christine Smith plays keyboards and backing vocals in Marah. She has added so much to the band in concert. I was also pleasantly surprised to hear her all over the new album Angels of Destruction, which will be out in January, taking their recorded work to whole other level of greatness, in my opinion. She's been an important addition to the band, completing a new lineup of dedicated, versatile, amazing musicians.
Before Marah, she spent a lot of time backing up another one of my favorite artists, Jesse Malin. She is also a solo artist with an excellent debut album Tomorrow Blues. For more on Christine, go to http://www.myspace.com/christinesmithnyc
Here's are some videos from Christine's solo performance, with a little help from her friends, at The Living Room in NYC on November 14, 2006:
